How to hack monster pet shop using Hex editor

Just a few reminders and tips before you hack the game:

Don’t change your time as this can cause your shop to become purple and you can’t share eggs with your friends. Also, Uncle is pretty annoying every time you open up the game with his warning or else your monster might run away! Even if you turn the Wi-fi off somehow it still figures out that you’ve changed the time.

Even if you’ve hacked your way up to the highest level, you still need to wait for the egg vendor to sell rare eggs. So patience is a virtue. Or better yet if you’re impatient just as I am, just ask some of your friends at Game Center.

Take note how many coins and berries you have before you start hacking.

Before starting, make sure that Monster Pet Shop is not running in the background.

Quit the game and close it.

So here's my tutorial on how to hack Monster Pet Shop

First this is what you need:

1. Hex editor - just google it and you can download it for free

2. Iphone explorer

3. Hex editor

All three programs should not be closed down, just minimize it in the background.

Alright now that you’ve downloaded the programs, connect your ipod/iphone/ipad to your computer (use the original white usb connector) and start up Iphone explorer. Make sure that your Itunes does not open automatically when you connect your ipod/iphone/ipad because it will not work. 

When you open Itunes Explorer, click on apps (it's found in the bottom of the left hand corner). 

If in case a message appears “file directory not found” just close the Iphone explorer, unplug and plug the connector or change places with the usb then turn it back on. If it still shows up even if you’ve changed places just restart your ipod/iphone/ipad and reconnect again. Make sure you’re using the original Apple usb connector.

Now click on capcommobile.monsterpetshop. This is what it looks like:

Then click on Library:

Click on preferences:

And click on the com.capcommobile.monsterpetshop.plist

Then drag and drop the plist file to your desktop or into another folder. Make sure you make a back up copy of the original file. Store the original file somewhere else in case something happens.

Next open the plist file with a hex editor program. This is what it looks like:

And here is my Monster Pet Shop before I hacked it:

As you can see, I only have 21 coins and 1 berry. Now open the hex converter (just google it) and enter 21 (or how many coins you have now) and click the button “to hexadecimal”. Here I have the result of 21=15 and my berry is 1=1.

Now let’s go back to hex editor. Scroll all the way to the middle part of the editor and you’ll see there the names Snorker, Snorker, Paul, Paul and some characters between them on the right hand corner like so.

Actually there were two types of hex I found in this game. The picture down here is the first one I’ve hacked into first. It doesn’t have the name Paul, Paul in it so whichever way it is between this two as long as it’s in the middle and after the Snorker, Snorker, you won’t have a hard time to find it as long as you know how many coins and berries you have.

By the way, there are a lot of names in there that are listed and I think Snorker, Snorker was listed 3 times (or 4 can’t remember). Now here is where the hex converter comes in handy. My coins where 21 equals to 15 in hex value and 1 berry equals to 1 hex value right? Remember when writing hex values, it should be 4 characters for ex. 21 coins = 00 15 and 1 berry = 00 01.

Now look in the hex values at the left hand corner of the screen and see if you can find the 00 15 and 00 01. If you can’t still find it just click on search at the top of the screen, enter the numbers ex. 00 15 00 00 00 01 (make sure there are spaces between them and add two sets of 00 between them) and click on hex values at the drop down menu and press ok. Or enter Snorker and click on the text-string at the drop down menu.

Here I’ve highlighted the hex values equals to my coins and berry.

Let’s say I want 10,000 coins and 10,000 berries. Please go back to the hex converter and enter 10,000 to convert (or as much as 1,000,000 if you want) and click on the hexadecimal button like this:

So 10,000 coins = 2710 to hex value. Now open the hex editor and edit as normally as you would in any text or document (the edited text is in red) and click on save as into a different folder (not where the original plist file is).

Or the updated version with Paul, Paul 

Alrighty, we’re almost there. If in case you saved it in the same place as the original file just move the new one into another folder and make sure to delete the last characters so that the end would be .plist

Moving on, go back to the Iphone explorer.

Right-click on com.capcommobile.monstershop.plist and delete it. Or if it won't let you delete it just click on the plist file and hit delete in your keyboard. Drag and drop the new plist file into the Iphone explorer.

Now open you’re Monster Pet Shop and Wallah!!!!!

 You now have 10,000 coins and berries!!!

Congratulations! Now you can buy unlimited eggs, food, toys, and upgrades and you already know how to hack using hex programs!!!
